Built in, Phase Cut Dimming
The Line Opal features a built in flicker free driver. This allows for smooth dimming and flicker free lighting. Please note that this fitting is standard as phase cut dimming. It is also available in 1-10V dimming, with non-dimming options available, upon request.
Utilising Samsung LEDs, the Line Opal maintains a 90+ CRI and high quality light emission.
Quick Connection and Mounting System
Our specially designed aluminium joiner is made to fit perfectly between any required lengths and provide extremely strong support. This results in seamless connections and a flawless visual alignment. The Line Opal also incorporates quick connection plugs, a quick connect canopy and the option for surface mounting clips, if required.

LED stands for Light Emitting Diode; a semiconductor device that converts electricity into light. LEDs use approximately 85% less energy than halogen or incandescent lighting (hello power bill savings!) and also have a much longer lifespan, roughly 25,000 – 50,000 hours depending on the ‘globe’. LED’s are also eco-friendly, they don’t contain any harmful mercury, they don’t emit any CO2 and they can be recycled without harming the environment.
Kelvin (K) is a measurement of light colour and is not a measurement of brightness, 3000k is a warm white, whereas 4000k is a cool white. The higher the number of Kelvin, the cooler the light. Think of the ember warmth of candles or firelight (which is 1000k-2000k), compared to the blueish tint of daylight, which is around 5000k. The colour temperature will impact a number of factors, including the ambience of a space.
Our lighting consultants lean toward a 3000k as it is not too warm/yellow toned and will therefore provide a clean white finish that is also still soft. However this can differ as some people may prefer a cooler white to others. For example, homes that feature a monochromatic palette of whites and blacks will suit a 4000k better – to bring out the whites and not create a yellow wash.
Lumens are a measurement of the total amount of visible light from a light source, this is the term used in place of wattage on the old scale. Typically, closer to 100-lumen per watt is very efficient – a standard downlight at 10.5W should be closer to 900lumen – this means it is performing at a higher level with less power.
CRI stands for Colour Rendering Index, which measures the ability of a light to accurately reproduce the colour of various objects. The closer to 100, the higher the quality of the light source.
